About the Artist
These pictures are a selection of Karen’s work. They reflect her experience of living and working in Trinidad,
Japan, London, Leicester and her travels around the world. Some of the pictures were created for an Amnesty International anti- apartheid  exhibition.
Karen’s images use batik techniques or wax resist methods. Most have been created on cotton, using hot wax and dyes. Some
have been created with silk screen methods using hot wax, dyes, inks and acrylic paints. The 3D images depicting Leicester market have been created with textile artist Su Elliot.
